Our world bases self worth on the size of the waist. For many people, the issues of weight loss are just too overplayed on television, radio and in real life to even think twice about starting a weight loss program. We learn from the multitude of interactions we have in everyday life that the smaller your body is the more you are worth to those around you. Obesity is a growing concern in America. The definition of morbid obesity is surprising to many individuals. The lack of exercise, especially those with a sedentary lifestyle can cause problems with joints and the increase weight being carried can add other health problems.
Obesity Surgeries
There are now obesity surgeries which have come to the aid of many people who suffer from obesity. These surgeries are Gastric Bypass surgery and Lap Band surgery. For these treatments of obesity, the patient must be severely obese and have additional health issues. Obese individuals do have additional health issues, so insurance companies are putting these surgery treatments for obesity into their plans.

It is important to remember that weight loss is a battle for life. These videos show that even if you are rich and famous, weight loss is still a problem. Gil Gerard had all the money needed to fight being overweight but was losing the war. Here is a man who was a heartthrob back in the 70’s. Until his surgery, he was slowly dieing from the diseases caused by being overweight.
Major surgery like gastric bypass should be the last option to save your life. Anytime you go under the knife and you are sedated, your life is at risk. So before you consider any life changing surgeries, do the research on it.
