Objections - An Enabling Sales Technology

April 12th, 2008 by LoadRunner

Objections. You have heard them all before: I have no budget, I have no need, I am not interested or We are happy with our existing supplier. My favorite objection is Maybe later. All are the customer’s way of saying no.

Classical sales training tells us that you have to hear “no” before you can hear “yes”. What this really means is that customers must purge themselves of all concerns, hesitations, and questions before they can buy. And if they don’t get these things out their system they won’t be able to go forward. These concerns manifest themselves as objections in the sales process. The astute sales person is on the lookout for these and welcomes them.

But after twenty-plus years, nobody has stepped-up to disprove my assertion.

You can do it, if you have a clear voice and can follow directions.

Sadly, these two simple requirements eliminate about 90% of the human population from succeeding.

Customers Are All Around You

February 11th, 2008 by LoadRunner

Networking and meeting new people is an element of sales that will never go away. When you stop meeting new people, your sales will come to a screeching halt and take a sharp turn for the worse. Sales people who consistently network and get their name and company in front of new people will build long term business relationships that foster sales growth and increased performance.

Effective prospecting is a numbers game. It is nearly impossible to debate that fact. The more people you meet, the more potential customers you will identify. As you identify potential customers, your targeted sales and marketing efforts become more effective, and the qualified prospects you identify enter your sales pipeline.
